Top- Thrifted. Skirt- Lavish Alice. Shoes- H&M. Bag- Moschino.

How amazing is this skirt from Lavish Alice? Im in love with this and just about everything else from their new collection. If you haven't already you definitely need to check it out.

Ive teamed it with this vintage mesh baseball top that I found in a thrift shop when I was in Melbourne, I think it gives a really nice sports luxe vibe to the look. There are so many other things I want to wear with this skirt too, Ive a feeling its going to be a bit of a staple for me over summer. I really hope they bring it out in more colours! I would definitely snap up a black version.

It has been so nice and sunny this weekend . Scotland Is looking so nice and green at the moment and especially beautiful when the sun is shining, I really hope it continues for a bit longer.

Hope youve all had a lovely weekend.

Lost and Found

Top- Topshop. Skirt-Choies.com. Bag- Sportgirl. Shoes-Choies.com

Hey guys, Ive just come across this photo from a few months ago when I was back in Melbourne. I thought it had been lost forever in a memory card malfunction but its miraculously appeared again! Yay, Ive been meaning to show you this skirt for a little while.

I love how different this skirt is for a high street find, its got such a unique structure and the quality is really good. Ive also found its pretty versatile, I can get away with wearing it in the office and out for a night out depending on how I style it up.

I also miss my hair being so light, I need to get some more sun soon. the Scottish weather is definitely all that its lived up to and more... I didn't think it was normal to get hailstone storms in May but apparently so!

Combination Print

Jacket- H&M. Cardigan- Vintage. Top- Cheap Monday. Jeans- Topshop. Bag- Moschino. Shoes- ZARA

Combination print has to be one of my favourite trends at the moment. I love a bit a contradiction when it comes to fashion so when this particular trend hit the catwalk I was all for it- the more contrasting and conflicting the pattern, the better.

I've kept it pretty casual today teaming this vintage zebra cardigan with these cute snow leopord zara sandals along with my favourite h&m biker and faithful Jamie jeans.

Basically the end product was a hybrid of  monochrome, contrast print and snow zebra leopard!

Reliables

1.   2.  3.. 4. 5.

Quite often I see an amazing statement piece that I've just got to have (like these stunning Chloe trousers) but when it comes to styling it up its a lot harder than you think! It’s easy to over load an outfit with too many busy accessories and ruin the overall look.

I like to keep things clean so when it comes to bags and shoes I’m a sucker for simple black leather
accessories because I can wear them with almost anything. Investing in some quality leather accessories
is something that can make such a huge difference to an outfit and will last for years if you look after
them properly.

The same goes for jewellery; as much as I love to go crazy on the odd high street jewellery
spree it’s good to have a couple of statement pieces to wear on special occasions. I tend to stick to
silver and pewter pieces of jewellery - the Alexander McQueen
Flower Skull ring and the YSL Arty ring are my two all time favourites.

Cobalt

Jacket- H&M. Sunglasses-Cotton On. Jumper- Sportsgirl. Skorts- Zara. Bag- Sportsgirl. Shoes- Choies.com

This skort from Zara ticks just about every box in the desirable skirt/shorts stakes for me- tailored, asymetic , clean cut and electric blue- so I absolutely had to get it, there was no decision to be made!

Ive paired it with this chunky ribbed jumper from Sportsgirl and my most favourite addition to my wardrobe at the moment- my H&M leather jacket.

The skort also comes in white which I really liked too but every time I buy something in white I'm too scared to wear it out at night in case it gets ruined (flash back the Tuxedo jacket incident of 2011) and when I eventually do, I spill on it anyway. So at the moment, white tailoring and I are having some time apart.

Shoes....

1. BCBGMAXAZRIA        2. ZARA.

I would love for both of these pairs of sandals to be in my shoe collection in time for summer. I've been looking for a pair of shoes with a metallic heel for a while now but haven't found any I've liked until I came across these BCBG beauties.

These Zara combination print sandals are equally as amazing and as essential for summer. If only my bank balance could facilitate this...

Silk Separates

Jacket- H&M. Top- Choies. Shorts- Choies.com. Shoes- H&M. Sunglasses- ASOS. Bracelet- Merrin and Gussy

Hey Everyone,

How good is this H&M jacket? It is possibly THE best biker leather jacket I have ever seen on the high street, it was a little more expensive than H&M's usual prices but 100% worth it. Ive been wearing it so much recently and I have a feeling you are going to be seeing a lot more of it on the blog too.

Ive also been dying to show you this little top and shorts set from Choies. I love the silky pyjama-esque feel its got going on, they come together as a set but theyre great for mixing and matching with other pieces too.

A lot of you have been emailing to ask how delivery/customer service is at Choies.com and for me theyve always been great! Ive always been very happy with anything I have recieved from them so even if there had been a small wait it would be worth it in the end!

6 Months ago tonight...

6 months ago tonight I saw you smile.  You were, for a few hours, free from the pain that had plagued you for so long.  You were surrounded by the people who loved you, and you were the center of the universe.

Quite happily you went from one cuddling embrace to another, lapping up the love from everyone around you.

6 months ago tonight we took all your dressings down, we de-needled your port and I took you into the shower.  We shampooed and conditioned the few stray whisps of hair that were left on your beautiful little head.  We played our soapy snuggles game.  We played 'wash the baby bum' and we had soapy tickles.

6 months ago tonight we dressed you in another brand new pair of jammies.  Ariel ones.  We snuggled you into your bed with your beloved dolly and we told you we love you.

6 months ago tonight you smiled and signed love to us.

6 months ago tomorrow our hearts were shattered into a million pieces.

It is so hard to comprehend that you have been gone for 6 months tomorrow.  I still wake up in the night because I hear you cry for me.  I still wake up and can hear you playing in your bed.

Every day there are a million reminders around me of the fact that you just simply aren't here...  and I miss you.

We all miss you.

I miss you so much it hurts...  and it hurts every minute of every day.

6 months on and the pain hasn't gotten any easier...

I don't think it ever will.

Just Imagine...

Imagine...

Imagine for a minute...

Imagine what it's like to hold your small daughter in your arms, cradling her gently, whispering soothingly to her while her tiny body is wracked with pain and nothing you can give her helps.

Imagine what it's like to see her face, a face you have always seen lit up with laughter, now contorted in pain so deep that it resounds in her eyes, eyes that beg you to do something, anything to help her.  She hurts and she is afraid, and there is nothing you can do except hold her and whisper to her and let her know you are there.

Imagine watching her sleep, watching her little chest rise and fall with each laboured breath, knowing that at any moment it could all be gone.  Every night, you spend hours sitting, watching, fearing that every minute that passes could be her last.

Imagine feeling so incredibly hurt and betrayed by the world because this is happening, because you are trapped inside a nightmare and you know that you are not going to wake up.

Imagine that your world is crumbling around you and there is nothing you can do to stop it, because this is a fight that you cannot win...

Imagine that this is your life...  your world, your everything...

Imagine what it would be like to live like this, day after day, week after week...

Imagine now that YOU did this to your child.

Imagine that you gave her toxic drugs purchased illegally on the internet to combat a deadly disease that she didn't have.

Imagine you are the reason that she suffers.

Imagine knowingly and willingly inflicting on your child a life of pain, suffering and misery.

Why?

Imaginary glory.

Attention?  Money?  Power?

I don't know...  but what I can tell you is that this isn't imaginary...  this is real, very real.

It happened.

A child who was once very bright and healthy is now battling a potentially fatal battle because her mother fed her chemotherapy drugs to make her sick.

I know that this happens from time to time...  you read stories about carers in other places who make their children sick...  but this is different.

Why?

I know this child.

I know this mother.

I trusted her.

When she said things like:

"It's a world no parent should ever have to see . . . a world where you are woken each night by the screams of children in pain . . . where you can hear children vomiting from the other side of the ward, retching so hard because they have nothing else to throw up."

"I HATE THIS PLACE. IF I COULD RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE I'D RUN A THOUSAND MILES TO BE AWAY FROM IT!"

I sympathised with her because those statements resonated with me.  I knew, first hand, the  horrors she was talking about.  I have been there, I have seen it, I have smelled it, I have felt it...  I have walked those halls and I have lived that life.

The difference being that she did it to her child on purpose...  we had no choice.  We didn't ask for it and would have given anything to have been sent on a different path.  We didn't want that life, apparently she did.

The impact that this is going to have is going to be phenomenal.

The people that donated to this woman may not do so again out of fear of being scammed, so there will be lots of worthy, GENUINE people who will miss out on kindness and help from strangers, kindness and help that, I know from personal experience, can make a profound difference on a person's life when they need it most.

The parents who reached out to this woman, who shared stories, hugs and small parts of their lives may hold back in the future for fear of being burned again which may leave parents vulnerable and alone when they most need support and compassion.

The staff who were involved may become more skeptical of parents which may make it harder again for parents who need it to get help.

That is not even beginning to take into account all the other little bits and pieces...  the accommodation that was provided to her at the expense of the government, taking away a much needed room from a family who was genuinely in need.  The blood transfusions, the drugs provided, the tests that were done, the theater blocks...  all of which were taking resources away from a genuine patient with a genuine need...  and then there's the support and the charity.

All resources taken from children in genuine need because of one mother's desperate and pathetic need for attention.

And I think that is the part that bothers me the most.  This woman willingly inflicted on her child pain and suffering that is unthinkable all for some perceived glory...  she made friends with families, she infiltrated their worlds...  and in doing so, she betrayed trust.

Not only mine, but the trust of every other parent that has been in this situation.

She has made a mockery of everything that our children have endured.

And for what?

Attention?

Facebook likes?

Money?

I feel like a part of my world has been shattered.  I feel betrayed...  and I feel phsyically sick that anyone, least of all a MOTHER, could willingly and knowingly inflict this kind of suffering on an innocent child...  a child who now, may not recover.

That is something I don't need to imagine.

What I've Been Pinning

Hey Guys,

I have some really sad news... My camera has decided to pack in and die so I havent been able to get any new outfit posts for you this week.

SO instead of channelling my creative juices into styling and snapping looks for you myself, I've been hooked on pinning on Pintrest. Although its not quite the same as creating my own looks its been an adequate substitute for the time being and highly addictive! If you haven't signed up already I suggest you do and get following me heeere :)

Hopefully it wont be too long until I'm back to papping my latest buys but will definitely keep blogging my latest happenings and new obsessions in the mean time!

Hope you've all been well :)

Emerald

Top- JUNK. Shorts- Missguided. Belt- Thrifted. Shoes- Choies.com. Bag-ASOS.
Hey Everyone,

Hope you've been having a good week :) We've been having a bit of a heatwave over in Melbourne this week and its going to get even hotter over the weekend, Im going to Future Festival on Sunday to see The Stone Roses and Temper Trap which I cannot wait for ! The fact that its going to be 32 degrees just makes it even better.

I love wearing this emerald green colour with a bit of gold and black, it gives a bit if a vintage 80's feel to an outfit. Im also still getting so much wear out of these shoes, I think im definitely going to have buy a replacement pair when I wear these ones out in the very near future.

Ive just recently been listed on Blog and the City- a website that lists influential style bloggers organised by their city- I was really flattered to be listed against some amaaazing bloggers in Australia, you should check out their page here  :)

Pinstriped

Trousers- Zara. Top- Zara. Bag- Sportsgirl. Shoes- Sportsgirl. Sunglasses- ASOS.
Hey Guys,

Hope you've all had a good weekend ! After a bit of a dramatic end to the week (involving a collapse, a  pretty vicious knock to the head and a trip to hospital) I spent the rest of mine down at the coast relaxing by the sea which was amazing!

Ive been dying to show you these amazing pinstripe silk trousers from Zara. They are the perfect balance between slouchy lounge pants and tailored suit trousers, making them suitable for almost any occasion. They can be easily dressed up for work or out for dinner but at the same time they can be dressed down for some mooching about. I really hope they make this style in some more colour ways !

Lace Insert

Shirt- Zara. Shorts-c/o Missguided. Belt- Vintage. Bag- Ripcurl. Sunglasses- ASOS. Shoes- c/o- Choies
Hey Guys,

I have another new pair of favourite shorts from Missguided to show you all :) How amazing are these black high waisted lace insert beauties? They are my go to pair right now AND I have some exciting news, Missguided are shipping Internationally! They now deliver to Australia, the US and Europe :).

This shirt from Zara is another one of my favourites at the moment, It has a bit of a Scandinavian vibe to it and brings back nostalgia of trips we used to take Norway when I was younger. My parents used to live there when they first got married so it will always be a significant place for me.

Im also starting to think im going to have to get these shoes clinically removed from my feet? I cant seem to take them off...

Hey guys,

Hope you've all had a good weekend :). Ive had this top for a while now but havent had the chance to wear it because of the crazy hot weather we've been having here recently. I know I shouldn't complain but Im getting a little sick of dressing for summer everyday, you forget how limiting it is ! I never thought Id say it but I miss wrapping up for the cold... BUT I should probably stop complaining now because it will be winter again before I know it!

Boohoo Global Styler

Jacket- Boohoo.com. Vest- Sportsgirl. Shorts- Missguided. Bag-Zara. Shoes- Choies.com

Hey everyone,

Im back after a little week off to show you this beautiful jacket from boohoo.com ! I've styled it up as part of their Global Styler campaign which you can read more about here :) .

I was drawn to this trophy jacket straight away with its cool vintage vibe and tapestry print, its so different  from the stuff you usually see on the high street. This is the first item I've owned from Boohoo and I was really impressed by the quality and the reasonable price points, so if you haven't already I would definitely recommend that you check out their site!

Ive also added a bunch of new items to my blog shop, lots of pretty things up there that I's sad to be parting with. You can have a browse by clicking here .

Hope you've been having a good week so far :)
